Braxton’s Fall Festival: Day 21 – Halloween Excitement

Braxton’s Fall Festival – What’s Happening Today?

Welcome to Braxton’s Fall Festival. Today we’re celebrating the launch of Haunted House Ghost with a thirty-one (31) day virtual festival, where we share the scoop on all the exciting book promotions coming up this month. Who’s ready for…

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. In an early segment, Noriko and I chatted about what Halloween is like in Braxton and in New York City. It was a little too early to capture Halloween photos from around my neighborhood, but today I can finally share some some spookiness from a recent trip to Maine.

I went to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, one of the top 10 places to see in Maine according to most travel sites. I highly recommend it because you will see beautiful flowers, plants, and trees… but there are tons of special programs and children’s series… and in this trip, they decorated for Halloween and autumn with pumpkins, scarecrows and witches. It was in my top 3 of my week-long visit to Maine.

The reflection was amazing!

When I think about Halloween, I conjure images from movies and books that make me feel the energy of the holiday. I thought I’d share a list of my favorite entertainment options and see who’s experienced them too. I chose movies that either focus on Halloween or include characters closely related to the topic (ghosts, witches, etc.). I chose books in the cozy mystery sub-genre to align with mine; these might be full series with ghosts, witches, and skeletons, or a specific book in the series that highlights the theme. For them both, I only included those of I’ve seen or read. There are undoubtedly plenty more. Please share them all here! Afterward you’ll see some photos courtesy of Roda @ Indigo Acres. What a photographer she is!

  1. Loving all the Halloween posts! Your trip to Maine looks like a fun time. Roda certainly is a wonderful photographer too. The book pics are perfect!

We definitely share some of the same movie favorites. I still remember when Scream came out my senior year in High School. Loved! 🎃😁🍂

Hi. Thank you so much. I’m trying to be as creative as I can with them. I loved the books growing in the gourds. 🙂

We seem to often have a lot in common here. That’s always a good thing. I just watched Scream 2 last week, I was feeling nostalgic for those types of movies.

A beautiful place to visit if you ever come to the US.

  2. Hocus Pocus, my favourite, too. (But it’s not coming on here this year! ) Watching Charlie Brown tomorrow though.

How rude of them! I think I might have to buy it this year. I don’t see it anywhere and I got rid of cable!

  3. Maine is gorgeous! If it didn’t get so cold in the winter, I’d move there.

I am thinking about chancing that in the future. I’ll get tons of heaters. 🙂
