Legally Blind Luck: Braxton Campus Mysteries #7 – Description & Timeline

November was a busy month! After finishing the outline for the 7th Braxton Campus Mystery, I spent 5 weeks writing the book. I’m almost done with the first round of editing. Today, I’m sharing the title:

LEGALLY BLIND LUCK

As you’ve come to know, the first two words mean one thing, and the last two words mean something else. So… as you read the description below, give some consideration to the terms legally blind and blind luck. Of course, there are the obvious definitions, but I promise, there will be hidden layers.

Over the next two weeks, I’ll be doing a final read-through of the story… checking the plot, characters, setting, tone, grammar, and consistency across past books. It’s not easy with almost 150 characters and 50 buildings or locations to keep straight. You’d laugh at some of the minor tidbits I forgot since the last book… but who could blame me with that last cliffhanger: an explosion in Orlando where half of Kellan’s family was visiting. Constance Garibaldi promised another death, and I sadly had to deliver. I won’t reveal his or her name until the book is published, but it’s going to be difficult to process… I shed a few years this time around.

To get everyone a little excited, you can read the description below and add the book to Goodreads. I’ll be doing a cover reveal in the next two weeks and then sending the book to a handful of beta readers ~12/31 for some final input. Then I’ll put the finishing touches on the story and send it to the publisher for formatting and final editing. Release Day will occur right at end of the first quarter. I can’t wait!!! Stay tuned for a couple of giveaway contests and the detailed timeline in the new year too!

Legally Blind Luck (Braxton Campus Mysteries #7)

Description

Surprising new family members. A hidden talisman. Deadly curses. Horrific murder. Months after tragically losing a loved one, Kellan learns his relative’s death wasn’t an accident.

Someone discovered Queen Tessa’s cursed talisman, and a rogue government agent will stop at nothing to retrieve the heirloom. Too bad it changed hands during an anonymous auction and found its way on campus. Moments before Braxton’s controversial art exhibition opens, Kellan stumbles upon another murder victim. It appears he might be next on the avenger’s list too.

Will Kellan protect Tessa’s true heir and prevent a killer’s nefarious plan from ending the curse? Given all the suspects have ties to prominent Braxton citizens, he’s uncertain whom to trust. Together, Kellan and Sheriff April are determined to solve the mystery via legal means or purely through blind luck.

Thank you! I love this plot. A bit of international intrigue. Some historical culture. And tons of family time.

Hello! You do. 🙂 One of the characters has always been from there, and I’ve added a few more and created a small backstory that will have a connection. Nothing huge, but a nice ode to some friends. 🙂
